Land Surveying

The Survey Department has been an integral part of EEC since 1996. In addition to the Survey Manager, the department is comprised of fully equipped survey crews, a crew manager, and survey technicians.

EEC has completed numerous ALTA/ACSM surveys, ranging from 20’ by 20’ parcels for wireless communications to a 6,000-acre parcel for proposed residential and commercial development.

We have surveyed hundreds of parcels of land in Southern Arizona, and we are well-versed in researching public records, monument records, and reading and interpreting legal descriptions. Our Survey Department has prepared hundreds of legal descriptions, from leases for telecommunication sites to strip easements for public utilities.

EEC has completed a wide variety of construction surveying for mass grading, rough cut, sewer, water, dry utilities, curb and retaining walls. We also provide bluetopping of both subgrade and AB along with the staking of new survey monuments.

EEC has completed numerous ALTA/ACSM surveys in Arizona. These surveys range from 20’ by 20’ parcels for wireless communications, to a 6,000-acre parcel for proposed residential and commercial development. Our survey team uses a variety of GIS and public record websites to research descriptions and easements affecting subject properties. When necessary, title companies are contracted to provide additional legal information. These steps ensure our clients that their bona fide right of ownership is well protected and represented. Final drawings and documents are prepared digitally according to the latest ALTA/ACSM standards for accuracy with attention to special requests by the client.

EEC has surveyed hundreds of parcels of land in Southern Arizona, and is well-versed in researching public records, monument records, and reading and interpreting legal descriptions. EEC follows the State Board of Technical Registration Standards, providing research, accuracy, monumentation, and recording. If a project requires topographic mapping on the ground, EEC uses a Total Station and Data Collector or GPS unit. The crew gathers information and downloads it into our computer system, and after analyzing the data, we prepare DTM files and a contour map showing contours, spot elevations, ties to existing monuments, and existing right-of-way lines.

Before a project can be designed, the engineer needs to know everything that could affect a potential design including existing design features and ownership. EEC has provided design surveys for our own engineering department as well as for various other engineering firms.

EEC’s Survey Department has prepared hundreds of legal descriptions. These descriptions range from leases for telecommunication sites to strip easements for public utilities. EEC is well-versed in the nuances of legal description preparation, so there is no ambiguity which could cause confusion in the future. In addition, EEC follows the rules of the State Board of Technical Registration Standards for all new legal descriptions.

EEC is uniquely positioned to offer aerial-based surveying to our clients. For many applications, it is quicker and more cost effective than conventional mapping and surveying. The accuracy and reliability of aerial-based mapping is dependent on the control established by surveyors. EEC can customize the necessary control to match the job and ensure a timely and appropriately accurate deliverable. The addition of drone-based surveying in-house can save our clients’ time and money since it eliminates the lag time in both waiting for the project to be controlled by surveyors and/or waiting for the photogrammetry to be processed by an outside firm.
