QuikTrip Phase I and II ESAs and Asbestos Surveys
EEC was retained to perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II subsurface soil assessments, and asbestos surveys on multiple parcels in Tucson. Phase I ESAs were performed on 12 residential and commercial parcels. A Phase II subsurface soil assessment comprised of drilling and sampling eight exploratory boreholes to depths of 15 to 30 feet at various areas of concern on the parcels, was also performed. EEC also performed asbestos surveys on six buildings located on the parcels.
The work was performed while the residences and commercial properties were still in use, requiring EEC to carefully coordinate property access and scheduling with multiple residents and business owners. Additionally, this project was time sensitive, as deadlines for possible property transactions were in play. These factors required careful overall project management and careful, concise communication with both property residents and the client.
Following field work and receipt of analytical results, a master report was generated on the project with individual “pull out” sections for each parcel, allowing the client to consider the potential environmental liabilities of each parcel on an individual basis.
